Cross-Cultural Exposure Programme 2026 at Thiruppathoor Ashram
Programme
The Cross-Cultural Exposure Programme 2026 of Kanyakumari Theological College (KKTC), to be held at Thiruppathoor Ashram from July 1 to October 31, 2026, commenced today with an Orientation Programme. The inaugural session was led by Rev. Noah, General Secretary of the National Missionary Society of India (NMSI), who provided valuable insights into the significance of cross-cultural learning, mission engagement, and contextual theological reflection.
This unique programme has been envisioned and designed under the leadership of the Chairman of KKTC, Rt. Rev. Dr. S. Christopher Vijayan, with the objective of equipping students to engage meaningfully with diverse cultures, faith traditions, and social contexts. The programme is being organized and coordinated by the Principal, Rev. A. Rayappan Issac, whose leadership has been instrumental in bringing together the various components of this academic and experiential learning initiative.
The Cross-Cultural Exposure Programme seeks to provide students with opportunities for immersive learning through classroom sessions, field visits, community interactions, and reflective engagement. Participants will gain firsthand exposure to different cultural and religious traditions, enabling them to develop greater sensitivity, understanding, and competence for ministry in a pluralistic society.
All faculty members of Kanyakumari Theological College are actively involved in conducting classes, facilitating discussions, mentoring students, and coordinating various exposure activities throughout the programme. Their collective contribution ensures a rich learning experience that integrates theological education with practical engagement in diverse social and cultural settings.
As the programme begins, KKTC looks forward to a meaningful period of learning, dialogue, fellowship, and transformation that will prepare students for effective Christian witness and ministry in an increasingly interconnected world.
